Tim and Cate

Tim and Cate are farmers who live at Deerhurst Priory, with Tim’s father and their children, they own and offer Birds Nest Cottage as a relaxing self catering holiday cottage.

Deerhurst is a Saxon settlement and the Priory was part of the Benedictine monastery that was situated here from the 8th Century. Part of the farmhouse was the original hall where the monks lived.

The Cottage

After the 16th century the house probably became the farm house that it is today. The Morris family have farmed here for nearly 200 years – it is now an arable farm with a few chickens and Gloucester Old Spot Pigs.

After running a B&B in ‘The Granary’ for several years, Tim and Cate renovated the stables which became ‘Birds Nest’ holiday cottage – a unique visitor experience surrounded by 1,200 years of history and situated in a tranquil spot, close to the River Severn.
